Meet the Team
Kris Bachman
Kris is a seasoned competitive runner and passionate coach with an exceptional background in both road and trail running. An 11-time Boston Marathon qualifier, Kris’s dedication to the sport goes beyond her personal achievements—she is committed to helping others reach their full potential. As a running and strength coach, Kris specializes in creating structured and customized training programs that foster consistency, discipline, and long-term success for athletes at all levels.
Kris co-founded the One Mile Leadership Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting, inspiring, and empowering individuals through a network of over 900 hand-selected professionals, athletes, military members, authors, coaches, and corporate leaders. Through this platform, Kris and the team were able to amplify voices, spread awareness, and promote action for important causes. The initiative led to the creation of Team One Mile, which competed in the Race Across America, one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges—a 3,000-mile cycling race. Kris played a pivotal role in this venture, serving as the crew chief, logistics coordinator, sponsor liaison, and managing finances. Team One Mile raised significant funds for veteran-focused charities, including Project R.E.D. Team, which provides vital mental health services to veterans.
In addition to her advocacy for veterans, Kris has volunteered with Operation Open Water, assisting veterans and first responders on a grueling 32-mile paddle off the coast of Southern California, further demonstrating her commitment to service and community.
Before transitioning to coaching and advocacy, Kris spent several years in the healthcare field, including working in the Neuro ICU and serving as an Organ Procurement Coordinator for the Wisconsin Donor Network. Her experience in these high-pressure, time-sensitive roles, where she managed complex cases and made critical decisions, shaped her leadership style. Kris later earned a Master’s degree in Nursing, becoming an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber, bringing a deep understanding of both physical and mental wellness to her work with athletes.
When she’s not coaching or leading community projects, Kris is a proud mother of three children and a devoted dog mom to two Aussiedoodles. She finds balance in her life through her love of running, strength training, and spending quality time with her family.
